General Information:

A new HSE policy was introduced in 2010 which we intend to extend throughout our operation by early 2011. We have had a safety policy in place in the Masila block for some time and this has demonstrated the benefits of a safe working environment. We have had good support from the Canadian Nexen Yemen Safety Department who helped to develop our new standards. We are proud to state that during the past 13 years we have never had any major accident to any of our workers.

 

Safety Equipment:

All our workers are provided with safety equipment complying with industry standards. The minimum issue is safety helmet and shoes, gloves, safety glasses and coveralls. More specialized PPE is available as required.

 

Safety Training:

We are confident our workers will benefit from our new safety-training program. Our Safety Officer who frequently lectures on Environmental Health and Safety will be instrumental in implementing our policies throughout the Company. We aim to train 50% of our work force in basic first aid and all of our foremen to the next level as well as the Safe Work Permit Course. We are also training a quick response team in fire fighting drills for camp emergencies.
